Recently installed used jackpot slip ons on my 14 street glide. Like the sound of them but wish they were a bit louder, would removing the baffles be a good idea or sound like crap, assuming the packing material surrounding the baffle remains in place if u remove them?
I would think the packing material is held in by the baffles. Fuel Moto sells different baffles if you want to make them louder. You will also back pressure by removing them, so I would look at the louder baffles.
Not sure how old the slip on mufflers are. I have an 07 RK. My jackpot mufflers have two different size baffles. This is to make up for no true crossover. The muffler with the smaller baffle is installed on the primary side.
There are a variety of baffles that can be purchased and installed through Fuelmoto, the manufacturer.
Was considering the competition baffles but thought maybe the dyno tuned slash cut slip ons come with these baffled installed? If not, then I will definitely consider ordering competition baffles if they will make a nice sound imptovement
The dyno tuned slip ons do not come with the Competition baffles, you need to buy them separately. The PO should have been able to tell you if he put the comp baffles in.
Get a catless head pipe, and the comp baffles for more bark.
