Any other open breather will work performance-wise the same as what you have now...Once you've opened up the breather to allow for more air, then there is no advantage performance-wise between one setup over another...it's all a matter of looks. Our engines can only suck in so much air & any stage 1 or open breather setup provides plenty of air to the engine for just about any setup or mods you have done.
Only reason I am changing my breather is for looks....just want to get rid of the factory cover & be able to change covers if I choose.
The Outlaw breather bolts are machined with a small hole and then a larger hole (the larger hole acts as a reservoir) then there is a fine mesh screen and then some foam filter media and another fine mesh screen.
The hot oily air hits the first fine mesh screen and breaks up the oil, then it hits the foam filter. The air passes thru and most of the oil gets absorbed by the filter, then drops down to the little reservoir and goes back into the head. The oil that makes it thru the filter hits the outer fine mesh and is broken up into a very fine mist.
Every time you put the bike on it's kickstand gravity will drop the oil out of the filter and back into the engine.
When you run hard for long periods of time in warm weather, there may be a slight misting onto the back of the air cleaner plate, but not enough for it to drip or run.
It is recommended to clean the filter media in the breather bolts every 10,000 miles, or more often in extremely dusty conditions.
They look great too!
