Default 2011WG -1" Kickstand Install

A while back I lowered my WG using Progressive 430's 11" shocks. After the shock install I felt very uncomfortable with the way the bike stood to straight up on the jiffy stand. So I ordered an Arlen Ness -1" Dyna kickstand. The install is pretty straight forward. First off there is no Cotterpin. Here are the instructions...

Place securely in some stand that will keep the bike straight up and off the Jiffy Stand.

On the very top of the stand. There is a 1/2" bolt. Remove this bolt. There is a locking washer that will come out with the bolt. It is a little hard to get to because it is in a tight spot with the primary right on top.

Jiggle out the stand and the spring with fall off.

Place the spring into the Stand and then connect to frame. Using slight leverage the stand should slide right back into the original position. Put the locking washer into position and then the bolt. I used a little tape on the bolt to get the bolt started back into the kickstand. Tighten up the bolt.

The new Arles Ness stand has a shorter loop at the end. It is harder to get the stand down than stock. If I find this to be a PITA I may grind off a 1/4" of the stock kickstand tab and reinstall. It probably would be better to just remove the stock stand, grind the tab down and reinstall.

I was not familiar with doing this before I started and found a lot of misinformation. I hope this thread helps someone that wants to do this mod...
