I put this in the tech also, I need some advice Please,
A strange thing, my 07 Dyna Low Rider EFI, started the other day I was going to work and the idle started to go down to like 700, I had to keep the gas on it a bit to keep it running, then on the way home it started alright hit the first red light and the idle goes to like 2500 and stays that way changing gears I go ten miles on the beltline get off the exit and its still doing it, get to the light after a couple second goes back down to 700 and tries to die again. got any thoughts before something quits on me?
Thanks
first thing Heavy is to check to see if the bike is throwing codes, crank sensor, TPS sensor, injectors... they can all cause this, the codes will tell you where to start
do what joe said check for codes first, then start removing and cleaning sensors one at a time to see if anything changes before you replace anything (crank sensor, tps, idle air control, etc)
If it had a carb, I would say you had a vacuum leak on the intake. The bike should be able to tell you what is wrong. As stated earlier, check those codes.
Leak in the fuel system, Idle Air Control, TPS setting all can cause problems like you are having...Start with what Joe said and we can work through till we find the culprit.
Thanks guys, I started on it last night, I ran a Q-tip up in there and it is filthy, I have to get some carb cleaner, on the way home today, I am going to work on it tonight if we aren't in the dark from the ice. I'll let you all know.
