Default Quick servicing question

Changing my fluids for the first time today. I am using SYN3. I have drained all fluids and installed the new filter. How many quarts go in eng/trans/primary. Also, what is the primary torqued back to?

What year of bike you working on?

My 2011 Fxdc takes 2 1/2 quarts in the motor. I suggest putting in 2 1/2 and checking your level

1 quart in the tranny

1 quart in the primary.

I just tighten the derby cover I don't torque it. It has a rubber seal, doesn't need to be super tight

Its a 2014 Dyna Super Glide. I put 1 in the tranny, 1 in the primary, and about 2 7/8 in the eng. I warmed it up after 2 and added a little until it was right at full. Thanks for the feedback.

If you find you have too much engine oil on a hot engine you can use a turkey baster to suck some out. I typically leave about a 1/2 inch short on the dipstick and on a hot engine it works out fine. Doesn't your owner's manual have a drawing for oil quantity levels?

Gonna see some flack on using Syn3 oil...

For the primary cover:

1. Replace torx w/SS bolts (better and won't strip inner-torx socket).
2. Tighten in star-pattern to ensure you get it on even.
3. Tighten to "feel" because snapped bolts suck.

Does someone sell the SS bolts as a set to replace these?
