Sounds like y'all are drinking some kool aid on that filter. .maybe it's just me but I don't see it as a vast improvement over the K&N offering. I'm open to convincing though.
Read some reviews mentioning the 'vacuum cleaning' doesn't work with the gunk that gets in there on a motorcycle, exposed to rain and oil (kicked back out the breathers, which inevitably makes its way to the filter). Maybe the Amsoil would work great under the hood of a car, beneath the plastic air filter cover.
Also saw it's more expensive than K&N and has a replacement life span.
Again, I'm not a die hard K&N supporter, but I don't see any reason to switch over to Amsoil just yet.

Matt and Allan. Dont want to hijack. Yea they are a tad more $$ but they do filter more particles and flow more than enough for the engine. Truth you probably would never see an issue from running a K&N but I want to know that i'm filtering all that I can. I also do not like adding oil back into the AC. Its my personal preference and most will stick with K&N. Its just another option. I know its a better filter and thats good enough for me.
AMSOIL INC. of Superior, WI announces the introduction of a new premium, high efficiency air filter utilizing nanofiber technology with a four year/100,000 mile service life guarantee and superior air flow. Positioning itself to be a world class leader in filtration, the AMSOIL Ea Filter is incomparable in both design and performance.
In lab testing Ea media with nanofibers removed 5 times more dust than the average cellulose filter and 50 times more dust than the average wet gauze media. Ea media also has 3 times the airflow of cellulose filters and is equal to wet gauze filters at the very low 0.5 inches of restriction. The proprietary Ea media held 15 times more dust than the average wet gauze type filter. In short, AMSOIL Ea Filters offer superior performance in the three critical performance benchmarks of efficiency, flow and capacity.
Sounds like some pretty tasty Kool-Aid! For me, I keep my filter covered up, kinda like it that way and the life span seems fair - I think you could safely go past 4 years if you only average about 4k a year. AMSOIL has a good rep, so I think I can give them some trust.
Allan you are going to love the Hayden M6. Took her out today and their is a very noticeable difference in the shifts. I have read a lot about this from others but you don't realize how true it is until you ride with one installed. Just awesome......can't say much about the power as it was my first ride so I kept it under 2,900.

Sounds great, was a bit of a pain getting that Hayden installed, really have to compress those springs and zip tie tight.
