Problem is with the tappered rod is they are not as easily servicable. Did DH replace your rod wrist pin bushing? My rods were junk so I upgraded them.

No, DH left my bushings alone, just replaced the rod roller bearings when installing the Pro
Plug. Can't tell for sure, but those H beam look like they have bushings too?

I think I have a little rod envy

Cool. It is the 2010+ that do not have the wrist pin bushing but there are exceptions.

They do have bushings but are not **** to turning. With heat and wear the tappered ones can turn. Not trying to scare you or anything. If you read the pic the ones with bushings are not forged but rather plain steel.

Alan, the main thing that makes the stock connecting rod pin bushing a weak spot is the fact that the rod is tapered to the top. The taper reduces the amount of material for the bushing to press into or hold onto if you will.
