So...there's a tire shop here in Tegucigalpa owned by a friend of mine who used to work for the only Harley dealer in the country but then decided to go Indie...
Anyway, he had slightly used Avon lying around and since I needed to replace my front tire ASAP, I gave it a go...
Too bad it wasn't a whitewall...oh well, beggars can't be choosers! Installed @57,000 mi we'll see how long it'll last.
Good find. Nice to see a bit of background there with your harley!
Thanks. That would be our nation's capital, Tegucigalpa. It's more like a small town really. 20-30 minutes to get anywhere [by bike of course] When I see Americans post videos of their daily commutes, I realize how small my city really is!
Ahhh, Tegucigalpa. When I was a little kid in grade school I loved learning about Tegucigalpa in geography class. What I really liked was saying the name, it made me feel like I was a grownup speaking in a foreign language.

Apologies for the goofy-*** thread hijack.
Crazy
Ha! That's actually funny! I'm not used to people knowing where Tegucigalpa is, or Honduras for that matter. Your geography class was pretty good then!
So anyways, I didn't use the bike for the weekend, and on Monday it turns out the tire was FLAT. The inner tube got ripped and the tire shop nearby came up with this temporary fix to help me limp along till I bought a better, thicker inner tube...
Luckily for me the president of my MC had a spare Drag Specialties Heavy Duty inner tube lying around, and donated it for the cause...all is back to normal!
I passed through the airport in Tegucigalpa a few times about 20 years ago. If I remember correctly, the airport was surrounded by banana or plantain plantations back then. I took a scuba trips to Roatan and also spent a week diving at Cayos Cachinos. Honduras was quite laid-back then and glad to see there's a few Harley's there.

I think my 4th grade teacher was in love with Central America. We had to learn the countries and capitals, but Honduras was my favorite.
The funny thing is my favorite cigars are Honduran; El Rey del Mundo and Punch Puro.
