Still psyched evertime I ride it. I've always heard from ol' timers that the FXRs and the Dynas were "the rider's Harley". When the MoCo came out with the Street Bob it was a no brainer me.
when I decided to buy a Harley I wanted the night train went to the dealer and road it. Nice ride the sales man said try the street bob so I did well I ended up with the street bob it was a much better ride and when I do decide to trade it in I will get another dyna they are great bikes!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have owned and ridden FXR's and the Dyna's. I still own two Dyna's and love them...but I just have too many bikes.
I always thought the FXR's were the way to go. Then they started making the Dyna...I got hooked on the Dyna. Great bikes and handle well...cool bikes too.
The Electra Glide feels lighter than the Dyna....yea I don't get it. I still like my 1998 Low Rider, which I am keeping though. If you ever get a chance to ride a HD touring bike....you might be surprised how well they handle. They are not as big as you think.
..."not as big as you think." My biggest issue w/ the touring models - I have ridden just about every model and they are way too cramped for my 36" inseam.Tall guys look funny (and uncomfortble) scrunched up on stock baggers... I like the strech my FXDBI affords me.
My Night Glide is perfect for the riding I do. Will be better when I get the 103 upgrade and about 10K worth of other things for it. Just kidding. get the (nice bike) comment all the time. Still kick myself for not jumping on that 06 super glide that sat on dealers floor for two days. sweeeet ,vivid black with 16" apes, tall sissy bar and skull collection. What a sweeeet ride!
I have an FXDXT 2003 and love it very comfortable after I updated the seat. For the Daytona 500 I rented a Ultra and I loved the trunk for our gear but other than that the ride was not that much better. We rode about 300 miles a day for two days, not sure we would have been worse off on the Dyna, I did like the heel shift once I got used to it.
