Default V&H Shortshots baffle mod

I wanted to get a bit more backpressure out of my shortshots, but didn't want to drop the $$ for the BCT's just yet. I know that the SS's aren't performance pipes, but I really like the look and wanted to give it a go. I know others have done similar things, but I was asked to post a photo of how mine looks. I bought the thumb screws at Lowes for like $2.50 for the pair. I was able to just simply replace the stock baffle set screw with the thumbscrews and supplied nuts to hold it in. I didn't have to drill the heat shields or anything. Not fancy, but I definitely can feel a difference and I had to use a different map to get it to run right after the mod so I know it has made a change in the airflow.

That's definitely a cheap easy fix. If you do it permanently weld in a nut to the front of the baffle because BCT claims the best results are 5.5-6 inches in for their baffles. But if you're happy with it screw it, no mods necessary!!! I wish I thought of this before I bought the BCT's....lol!

I used 1/4" x 1" thumb screws. So far so good with this set up.

Do you have a nut on the outside of the pipe?? Or just have the thumb screw go through the hole since you are going from the threaded side out.

Same setup I run on my sporty with a set of Samson Ripsaws. It's amazing the differance a little thumb screw can make.
