The top end rasp tends to dull over time.. I'd wait until they bed in properly before considering dampening it. They sound perfect IMHO at cruise

Cheers again guys

I've slept on it and I think I will give it a few weeks to see how it settles down

I think it is just the raspyness (is that even a word) that I'd like to eliminate

Unfortunately I've woken this morning torrential rain. Why after fitting new parts does that always happen.

Stupid question.. Does anyone know of a place I can order these thumb screws online. The few places on ebay wanna charge me about $30 to ship them to Australia. Seems a little excessive for two screws and yes I've checked all the local hardware supply stores.

I had them on wideglide up untill a few weeks ago.For me they are to loud and I dont notice any power gains switch between them and what I have now.

My shortshots are listed in the classifieds if anyone is interested

Cut the head off a regular bolt and weld a flat washer to it - you can adjust the effect with different size washers.

Will the dk custom thunder inserts do the same job. 20 dollars seems a steal if they will?
