Nice. I ordered a chrome set about an hour ago.

Whilst I do like the blacked out look .. I love the contrast of black and chrome so trying to keep that contrast

Congrats and nice on the exhaust. You'll love it. I hear ya on the contrast. I like both but went the way 1 went.

I put them on my switchback and yes they are loud but not unbearable. I didn't notice any loss in power but I was not unrealistic in the power expectation anyway (If I wanted speed and power I'd have a ducati or crotch rocket).

Okay so my pipes arrived and fitted with very little bother

Not been out for a proper ride yet but they took great and I am well happy

They are obscenely loud though.

Anyone got any advice on how I might just 'take the edge off'

Spend over 1k one the bike in the last month or so so can't afford the quiet baffles at the mo

Loud suits your bike. Just saying...but I do believe they make a quiet baffle to fit in them. DK may have some torque cones that will fit it...that with the baffles may work. DK?

Try the thumb screw method in the baffle holes?

Quiet baffles does exactly that IMO (I did see your comment about cashflow - can't help you there).

Don't use BCT baffles! That's what I use and my bike got louder, but that's what I like.

On the cheap, you could wrap your stock baffles with some exhaust packing. That would quiet it down similar to the quiet baffles.

Honestly, I say just roll with it. You will get used to it and you can control the sound if you are worried about the law.
