Mp 1p worth ... I went into the dealer for a Low Rider and came out with a Bob ... I prefer the look (and the price). A tach is not that important to me ... I've got ears. The bob is closer to the final look I wanted ... even tho I was not really looking to make a 'bobber' bike as you can see from my sig.
I've done a fair few miles on each, they both ride very similar, difference in seats makes a little difference, the apes feel right on the bob for me with a small screen even traveling at 80 plus ... I'm 5'7".
It comes down to what you want ... if you want low bars, shiny, two up, alloy wheels, tach then the lowrider is prob a good deal ... if you are going to change these then the bob is the better value.
You are going to modify it so buy the one closest to the look you want.

Go with the Bob and put all the $$ you save into pipes, intake, SERT/PCIII, etc and still have money left over for gas! But, if you're into chrome and like polishing it instead of stealthly black and thus more riding time, perhaps the Lowrider should get the nod. Both very similar and great choices, but Bob way cheaper. Like me!

If you go with the bob be sure to get personalized lic. plate so you can find you bike on bike night lol...or you could get one of them alarms that honk the horn and flash the lites!!!!

Then again if your only interest in buying a bike is to travel the bike night circuit, instead of ride. Does it matter what you get?

I don't know where you live but here lowriders and wide glides are a dime a dozen, this forum is the only place I have seen thisconcentration of Bobs.
