Thanks. This thread is a clearing house of information for what I consider to be the best bike in the whole HD line.

no need to cut it open. remove muffler, just used drills and cutting bits, poke them in enough to remove material, finally it just comes apart, removed with a piece of metal bar with hook bent in and long nose pliers. will be squeaky clean inside, took me about 90 min. start motor without muffler to blow remaining small pieces out
stock exhaust has nice sound without cat, though not likely as efficient as an aftermarket exhaust, leaves a lot of extra dough for things like a power vision, or other upgrades.

Thanks for the info. I may give that a go. I am however, so paranoid about pulling bits into my new cylinders on startup, that I will use a shopvac while drilling to vac all the dust or chucks I can...

(and just to add: what I had for lunch today while putting miles towards break-in. Love me some Sabretts NY "dirty water" dogs...)

forgot that one, I also used shop vac to remove most of small debris.

Just curious as to what the LR owners in this thread pay for insurance. I pay $400 a year for GSXR 600. I would think that a cruiser would be less costly to insure.

Geico dropped my premium 60% from what I was paying for a 2105 BMW S1000R that I just got ride of for my 2015 FXDL - same, full coverage.
