I am an experienced ride but new to HD. I am considering stage 1 but I like the stock chrome AC cover. Is there a way to put on a high flow AC but still use the stock cover?
Thanks.
Get the Screaming Eagle Stage 1 filter kit, uses the stock filter cover
Finally got out on the Low Rider for the first time this year! It felt sooo good. I had to run to the dealer and get a new battery under warranty. The original would not hold a charge after the winter. I would plug in the battery tender for two days once every two weeks. This worked just fine for my previous two Road Kings and a Street Glide. The service manager told me that I did nothing incorrect and that they charge the batteries on their storage bikes the same.
Yes Jimbo33. You can get a Screamin' Eagle high flow AC and use the stock cover. That's what I did. Just ask your parts guy to help you order the correct kit.
It seems that just about everyone who does the Stage 1 puts either the round style filter on:

Are there any advantages to using the SE Stage 1 filter and retaining the stock cover?
Hello from France!
I am the very glad owner of a new 2015 fxdl. My 7th Hd.
Riding in moutains, i have problemes with ground clearance. Pegs scraps. I have change my rear shocks for 13" ones. To complete this operation, I have ordered a paire of 2" extension tubes. Waiting fort it. This will give back to the bike its genuine seat. Then the ground clearance will be enhance of 1". The other 1" will raise up from the T. I hope this will make it easear to have a more sport ride like with my ex 2003 dyna sport that i loved.
Anyone else have done this? Thank you.
Philippe
Thank you The pipes are still stock. I may change them out later to get a little more of that Harley growl, but I'm going to break it in first and see if that makes a difference.
The pegs are from the Harley burst collection - the rectangular ones fit my feet better - allowing me to position them more flat footed with my boots.
Yes the bag is the Harley swingarm bag - not too bad to install - it requires the removal of the passenger foot peg. You have to take the belt guard off as well, but the kit comes with a new assembly for re-attaching the guard as well as a lower bracket for the bag. Fits nice. I recommend a jiffy stand extension if you're going to put a swingarm bag on...otherwise you'll have a hell of a time retracting the kick stand.
