I'm with you both, I checked in with a mate who lives close to the ocean and his Fat boy has raw lowers that have aged just as bad.
No they don't all look like that and I never really had that much of a problem. I thought giving them a good coat of wax after my first wash would prevent at least some, but it didn't seem to help at all. Though my first real ride was to ocean city MD. it seamed to have started there. Then cleaned up again sprayed with some corrosion inhibitor, some neighborhood riding until all hell broke loose with the snow and ice. Put it away clean. Then trailer down to Daytona in that east coast salt and ice minefield. Cleaned it up down there, did about 400 miles down there ,mostly drank, but 400 not bad for all the drinking we did, all sober rides ha ha. Cleaned it again then back to Stinking Island. Weather just started to break gonna give it a good washing and detail. I think the "ice"ing on the cake was the trip down to Daytona that really killed it. Anyone have any ideas for a good cleaner? I never really liked S100.
my path to the trailer

Question for fxrnutt: the HD 1/4 fairing you have installed is mounted on aftermarket bars. Would you have been able to mount it on the 1/4 fairing on the stock bars?

Yeah stock bars work too. It mounts on the fork tube so bars don't matter , I even have my risers rolled all the way forward. ...plenty of room for storage behind the faring

Thank you very much. I love the HD 1/4 fairing as it protects the headlight unlike all the other 1/4 fairings and windscreens I have seen.
I had checked it out on the HD webpage and it was not listed for the Low Rider.
As far as I recall, you may be the only one using one in this thread.
I plan to close on my LR this week. Just working out the numbers with the dealers.

I've got one on mine with the laminar lip. That's the 1/4 fairing with the bung king 49mm kit, buyer beware the windshield and headlight cover that comes with the harley 1/4 fairing kit don't fit! I got the cee bailey set up
And it looks great and fit great.... Like the harley ones should.
Lots of great looking rides on here. Mine isn't as modded yet but added a few goodies over winter.
3H LED headlight bulb
LED driving lights and HD aux switch housing
Detachable windshield
Cruise Mate throttle lock
Hi way pegs
Front signal relocation kit
Saddle bags and brackets
Luggage rack
I'm also running the HD 1/4 fairing with the Bung King 49mm kit and HD QD Brackets (one lockable). As suggested, Caveat Emptor, the windshield and headlight cover that comes with the fairing kit don't fit very well!
I intend to follow pinsky03 and get the Cee Bailey ones, especially as they offer a tinted screen. My research tells me that it is the only way to go if you want something that fits properly which the Harley ones don't.
