08 fxdl here, 30,000 miles. The first thing I did was put foward controls on it, mids were too cramped. They would have gone away anyhow when I put the Vance and Hines short shots on...screaming eagle heavy air cleaner and a power comander and I'm happy
Looks great! Where are your rear turn signals and tell us about that battery box! Such an improvement over the stock look!
I did a Custom Dynamics Taillight with the integrated signals since I have the Leather Pros bags, and didn't want to do the relocation.
The battery box is the stock lowrider cover with the big decal taken off and painted black.
Ballin' on a budget.
The exhaust is a stock head pipe decatted and I painted the heat shields. Its a Thunder Header Thunder cone slip-on for a SwitchBack, but they fit the Lowrider too.
Just got a call from the dealership informing me that one of my DK Customs breather bolts was cracked in half. Guy from the dealership claimed that it was likely due to the cheap grade of aluminum used.
Called DK Customs and spoke to them about it. DK asked that someone from the dealership give them a call and send a picture of the broken bolt. DK raised the specter of improper installation.
Why do I get the sense that the finger pointing has started and I am the one going to get stuck?
It sounds as if maybe you should go at it yourself this time around
I sure do not see how I could do any worse. The idiot who installed the Breather Bolts did not read or follow the instructions from DKC--which states that Loctite must be used. He simply screwed them in and over-torqued one the second time I had the bike back to the dealership.
In the future, I will have one of my friends help me. We will at least follow insturctions.

where did you come by those fork protector boots? I always liked those, good protection from rock chips etc.
I got them from a forum member, they're the Custom Chrome 49mm short boots.
Also how what bars do you have and how tall. Did you have to get different cable? Really like your bike
Thanks! The bars are made from my friend Chad who owns Shop 102, here in Atlanta, they're 11 inches over all. I changed the clutch cable and brake hoses. Throttle cables were fine.
Cool bike. Did you gut the cat in your head pipe?
I did it my self. I started trying out the drill method, but ended up just cutting a window and chiseling it out and then welding it back up. Ended up being way faster. Especially since I have a welder.
Congrads on getting such a nice bike. Good to hear from you,
Thanks! Ive been following this thread since its start. Its cool to see the different routes people are going with the Low Rider.
