I always take my time when filing a bike's gas tank. No need to rush that process.
So do I. I was at a pump with a super sensitive nozzle that kept clicking off until the spout was almost out of the tank. My hand moved slightly and the nozzle came out and full pour on the tank. I panicked and grabbed a gas station brown paper towel. Yep.
So the guy wet sanded and buffed my tank and got the big scratches completely out. What didn't come out where a few little spider marks that you can only see at the correct angle with super bright sun. You cannot see them at all in the garage or in normal light, only in the sun if you look a certain way. He said that you will get those and with the dark color are nearly impossible to keep away. He showed me his lighter colored bike and sure enough if you look super close you can see them slightly. I watched him wet sand the tank twice. Not sure what to think of it, but I hear they make medication that will alleviate my desire to stare at the tank with a flood light looking for them! LOL.
I have to agree on the license plate bracket! I am closing in on 750 miles and I have bought my bike on Memorial Day! Here is a lesson for you, don't use a gas station paper towel to wipe gas off your tank. I scratched the crap out of my Jade but got it buffed. That was an expensive tank of gas! Love the V&H slip on too. I don't know if it is my imagination, but it is sounding better every time I ride. I am loving the LR!
Was filling up yesterday and guy with a brand new street glide was washing his entire bike with the paper towels and bug cleaner. I had to look away when he started scrubbing to get the bugs of his tank.

I wonder if he finishes his cleaning process by using a fine grit sandpaper.
When my bike is not in the garage, it is always covered at work. I take great efforts to keep it looking good.
will, just installed a set of progressive 444 shocks today, went with 12.5" instead of standard 12" went over a bumpy road and curves, is for sure an improvement over the stock ones that I rode on for almost 9k miles. still need to do the acid test with wife and gear on back, but so far am happy with the choice. now if Ricor would just come thru with my intiminators I ordered a month back, so could see if the front end is better. am hoping the intiminators are as good as they say so maybe is reason for back order, we-ll see in time.

that is one of my nit picks on the low rider, is more tricky to re fuel than my other bikes were, but for the riding enjoyment it gives, I will put up with that.

Oh, it's a fun ride for sure!
I finally got to try out the ABS the other day. The cager in front of me made a quick right turn without a blinker and just stopped instead of turning. I had plenty of room but I had to get on the brakes and I heard that ch, ch, ch on the rear. I wouldn't say it was a close call, but it demonstrated its worth. That front dual makes for some good braking.

I don't have any issues at all when adding fuel to the bike.

Got the break in the weather I was hoping for. 80 degrees outside. Started out on a 10 mile ride to get some gas. Wanted more riding, so it went to 20 miles, then 30 miles and ended at 40 miles. Got home and did a little cleaning of the bike.
