The Powervision 2 tune helped alot with the heat. I noticed a big difference compared to stock. She's not running as hot as it used to with the stock tune.(too lean) PV2 automatically saves your stock tune from your ECM, and you can then compare them on your PC. things I look for are the Air fuel ratio and VE tables (stock vs the new tune). Someone else correct me if I'm wrong but the stock tune is very Lean, and Lean=Heat.

you are very correct that running lean means higher exhaust temp and hotter running engine.
I have to do something with my low rider as my wife says a lot of heat coming off muffler.
Am thinking of going with one of the FL-VIED-10 fuel enricher, and eventually want to remove the cat. My BMW runs so much better and cooler with slightly richer mix.

Thanks guys. Exhaust is the next thing to sort, but I like the 2-1 look so will be investigating options around that.

I'm going for the V&H Twin Slash Slip on part 16801 Neal. I don't think there's a great deal out there for FXDL's at the mo , unless you want 2 into 2's, but I'm keen to retain the 2 into 1 look. I'm sure more will become available as the months go by.

Default forward controls

has anyone installed forward controls on the 2014 low rider yet. i had them on my 04 super glide sport and thought I'd get used to the mid controls, but thats not happening not that im complaining i really love this bike. i was wondering if i really have to remove the whole primary or can i just leave the old shifter leaver in place like i did on the fxdx. i havent even looked at it but was wondering if any one else has

Thanks for the info - I shall look into that. Looks good and I had V&H Shorts Shots on my old Iron. How much louder are they? I don't want anything too loud - the ones on my Iron could be heard from a fair distance!
