My bike was set up so lean stock, as all Harley are, that the decel pop was pretty significant. I actually like the sound, but I know overall that its not the best for the engine. Since I've removed the baffle, it's become a little more lean. It's not bad, but its notifiable. If the tuner doesn't clean it up, I guess I will end up buying a new pipe at some point as well.
We've had some cooler weather ourselves, plus some heavy wind. I thought we were done with this stuff down here, but at least it's ride-able. I don't see how you guys up north do it. It would drive me crazy.
Out of all the mods I did recently I bought an FP3 and hooked up before I did any of them and dropped a stock map on the ECM. The bike definitely was "happier". It was more responsive for sure. Unfortunately I did not know what the running temp was before I dropped the updated stock map in. After the updated map, it was running around 250 degrees. Not sure where that falls, but the bike ran better. Since dropping the Bassani and HD Ventilator on, I really haven't been out. I pushed an updated map for Pro Pipe and hi-flow A/C though. I'll set it to auto tune and run that for a few tanks and push that over for a more final flash.

Thanks, that's some good info right there. I haven't heard of anyone doing the tuner on a stock engine. I was beginning to think that maybe I was going in the wrong direction with my thoughts.

No problem man. I don't think so because V&H released maps specific for the stock setup. Anything to make the motor run more efficient. I was actually always on the fence about doing a Stag 1. I figured if I left it stock I'd be different then most everyone LOL. But I always intended on getting the tuner no matter what. The engine deserves it.
Stage 1 is the way to go in my book. I never had my bike prior to the Stage 1 being done so I cannot comment on how it would have ran. I know that as it is currently tuned it is running real nice.

The tuner on the stock motor will significantly drop engine temps and give you better response. I could actually feel the different inbetween my legs once the tuner was installed.

Do you know what the stock temp was? I went for a ride today when I got home I checked my FP3 and it was at around 270. It was the first ride with new A/C and it had the propipe comp baffle hiflow a/c base map (it's in autotune mode right now). Was just curious where I fall right now
Finally got a pic with bothe new exhaust and A/C. I'm done with mods for the year as I have done the HD Daymaker, BAL-1, CD LED turn signals, turn signal relo, Bassani RR and the HD Ventilator all in the last month or so.

Nice well thought out ride. You're going to have a hell of a lot of fun if spring will ever get here.
