Joined the "new" lowrider family today. Picked up a 2014 Whiskey/Black Lowrider for my wife today as a Christmas present. She don't know it yet, but I think she will be excited (or super pissed) lol. I had planned on waiting until a little bit closer to December before I bought one, but when I went up to the local dealer they came back with $13,627 out the door and I couldn't say no.

I've got an old 79 Lowrider that was passed down by my Dad. He bought it off the floor back in 79. So I snapped some pics of her new one with my old 79 and some with my Deluxe before I stashed it in the back of the shop and cover it with boxes and moving blankets.

I liked the way it rides, I did go ahead and adjust the rear brake pedal and moved the shifter down a few splines. Gotta start looking at pipes and air cleaner for stage one.

I tried the sundowner at the dealer last week with my passenger and she loved it but it is a lot taller then the stock seat and it pushes me forward into a seating position much like the stock seat with the pad. The dealer had another seat there similar to the Sundowner but lower and it had cloth like inserts in the seating area but I ran out of time, I will try it next time.

Any suggestions?

that is my only problem with the sundowner is it moves me a bit too forward, may just have to resort to having it customized a more to my fit. guess I don't have pic with sundowner yet.

i have a mustange vintage solo with thin passenger pad that i had on my 06. i took it off before i traded it. I tried it on the new low rider and for some reason it just didnt feel or look right to me. and i put the stock seat back on.

I also have a rsd solo boss seat from my 06 that fits the new low rider and that is one bad *** lookin seat, just not that great for over 100 mile rides

Actually i took alot of parts of my 06 before tradin it in. just put them on the new bike

Not a good seller? From what I've seen and heard, HD is selling a lot of LRs.

By the way, what kind of deal was the dealership offering?

I put the Sundowner on for the wife when we go >50mi or so. She loves it, me...not so much. The bar and seat get swapped out as SOON as we get back. Just really like the look and feel of the stock seat.

Has anyone else thought about installing non adjustable risers and new handlebars on their LR? I would like to clean up the front end a little. The adjustable risers are kinda ugly and I have them all the way forward. I have been looking at some Biltwell handlebars, they have a lot to choose from.

just something to think about, they do look nice
Finally made the move and I have to say I love the sound of these pipes however there is one catch, I have the smartparts quiet baffles installed. I put the order into J&P Cycles and for an additional $69 I figured that it was worth the risk and it paid off. On Thursday I got home to find the pipes and the dreaded UPS signature required sticker for the rest of the order. Put the pipes on Thursday eve and started the bike and WOW they sounded BADASS!

Friday I got the remaining parts from J&P and finished the job and took her out for a rip. The pipes were a bit loud at RPM but otherwise sounded awesome. I decided that I would put in the baffles and see what that sounded like and it is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

One thing I found interesting is that the Fuelpack FP3 that I used to flash the EPM only had 2 V&H pipes to choose from short shots and 2>1 slip on. I picked the short shots and then took her our in AutoTune and re-flashed it. I put an email into V&H about this to see what they say so we shall see. Thanks to all that have helped me in this process.

Agree. Just ordered 10" T bars and headlight relocation kit.
