Just spoke to the service manager. My bike is being done Fri and will be ready for pick up on Sat. The ride home will be my second ride of 2018. I have a lot of make-up riding to do.

More than antsy. Dealer called me a few hours ago and said bike was ready. Told them I would be in Sat morning. The ride home will be my 2nd ride of 2018. Sun, Mon and Tues are all going to be great riding days. Plan on riding every day.
Managed to put the months of winter behind me with three sunny days of riding on some great UK roads. About 6 hours and 200 miles a day on everything from fast highways to single track mountain roads - 776 miles in total. The Low Rider managed it all wonderfully and only used a tiny amount of oil. I have growing confidence in this bike and am enjoying it more and more.
It was, and by leaving all decisions about direction until the last minute, we were able to follow the better weather. Touring also puts to rest those little doubts: will the seat be comfortable hour after hour; will the forward controls make the wind pressure too great when maintaining higher speeds; will it drink oil at prolonged highway speeds; will it be too unwieldy for hairpin bends on tiny mountain roads; will the ground clearance catch me out on smaller twisty roads; will I get used to the riding position, or will the slight aching around the neck and shoulders get worse so that I need to adjust or change the bars; will my pace on this bike be suitable for travelling with friends on BMWs? This trip has set my mind at rest on all those issues.
It's good to know that you're back on the road too; may the coming year provide you with many more good memories on your FXDL.
The Low Rider I purchased earlier in the week has V&H Big Shots. Stock intake, no tuner. Coming from a Sporty, the prevailing wisdom there is you could have slip-ons only and not need a tuner. But based on the way the LR it pops, I'm pretty sure I'm going to need s tuner. I've never owned a 103 before, but I definitely felt the heat when riding home on an 83 degree afternoon. Not sure if it's extra hot from running lean.
ANYway...is anyone else running different pipes without a tuner? What's yours like?

Yes, me too! The previous owner fitted a KhromeWerks slip-on without changing the intake or tuning. The dealer said there's no need for a tuner if the intake is unchanged; but, like yours, my bike pops a lot when I roll off the throttle. I have read elsewhere that this isn't a problem providing it doesn't pop when applying the throttle, and mine is fine while holding speed or accelerating. Nevertheless, when the thing is through it's one year warranty, I'll take it to a specialist tuner I trust to make sure it's running as sweetly as possible.
