What discs do you have on the '14 LR and how are they installed? Are they drilled in? Also, you have the end caps on the stock pipes right?
The HD SE Nightstick has the Supertrap disks(I think it has twelve) with a closed end cap. There is an optional open end cap that can be purchased thru some online stores. The disks are drilled and you can reduce or add the number of disks to change the amount of back pressure as well as change the sound of the exhaust. It can add or reduce the exhaust flow...this is a slip on muffler so the stock head pipes and the cat are still on the bike.
I don't have a current pic, but if you go back thru this thread take a look at a pick posted by modular, he has the SE Nightstick with 5 disks and an open end cap on his bike.
If you go to the Supertrapp website, it shows and explains how their system works...

Thanks for the info SBRob and the pic Modular. Can I simply install those slip ons or are there other things that need to be done to the engine or whatever...if so then I have to go to the dealer to do...anything beyond just putting them on.
Has anyone changed the horn on their 14 Lowrider? The stock horn sounds like one off a Honda 50. I would like to mount the large OEM horn between the cylinders on the left side but the key switch complicates that. Would like to know what, if anything, others have tried. Thanks in advance.

Common consensus is you can do either the exhaust or open air cleaner without having to get a tuner. It's when you do both that requires a tuner of your choice.
Decided to go the street bob head pipe route with S&S mufflers(for now) to get rid of the cat. Added a RS air cleaner and a new tune... its like a new bike!
What year did the exhaust system off of ? am wondering if one from an 06 model will work? looks about the same with exception of o2 sensor threads are different.

Should work fine. My short shots are for a 06-11 dyna and they fit fine minus having to get o2 bung adapters
