I got the info for the tools from another thread on this form.
I have never taken apart a set of adjustible forks before but I wont let that stop me.

I have been after one of these for about a year, watching on ebay for one but they were going for way to much money.
Got it locally, from a friend of a friend for a good price.
I have a 2005 FXDXI that I spent two years looking for. I believe the FXDX was the final outcome of the FXR. IMO this was the best bike ever made (a point of debate) but it was a bike that the MOCO actually let the engineers design rather than the bean counters (a bike way ahead of its time). I am continually asked if I want to sell mine. As you know they are hard to find because nobody will sell theirs and they were never imported into Canada (at least not into British Columbia). You really lucked out. Do what you want, its your bike but if you want the ultimate custom bike leave it next to stock. You never go wrong with classic simplicity and I think that model looks best like that! I agree with hutch08----- ditch the ape hangers
People may now give me a bad time for voicing my opinion!
