Check out the Roof Boxer or Desmo. It's both a full face AND 3/4 helmet. I myself have an AGV K4 EVO FF and a Fulmer V2 3/4, I enjoy both for the different types of riding I do (Highway and city). However, I would have spent about the same amount of money had I bought a Roof in the beginning. Something to think about...
As for the mods, take your time. Don't rush into anything. You'll be surprised how much you're tastes change every six months. Do the research and be sure it's what you want.
