Couldn't find anything. I replaced the WSS. Still throws c1021. I didn't replace bearing. should I ?
thank you for your help.
C1021 is 0 wheel speed
To me the next step (with the sensor unplugged ) would be to verify the new sensor is sending a signal.
Being new I'd hope it would. If it is sending a signal reconnect the sensor to the harness.
Then unplug the connector at the ABS unit and test for signal on the appropriate terminals in that connector.
If you get no signal (reading) most likely there is a broken wire or badly damaged terminal in that set of wires (circuit)
If you do have signal at the abs unit connector that would be pointing to the abs module itself.
I owned an Indian with ABS . Only reason I had bought it was I just had to have the two tone color. Indians are like an Japanese built American MC. No Character, too much excess crap. What was I thinking?. Sold the bike. Bought a clean low mileage 16 FXDB. NO ABS. Ive rode MCs and wrenched for a living for 50 yrs.Owned 31+ MCs. Never had a problem using both brakes in a panic, wet or otherwise sketched situation. I will never own another bike w/ABS. More $hit to go wrong-and if you bleed the brakes when it comes time be careful to keep reservoir full, least it will cost $150 to have system hooked up to a computer to cycle the ABS unit. You might anyway as these systems seem to give trouble just for the hell of it: HD or Indian, just my 2 cents.
I think I'm goint to remove the ABS , put new brake lines and go back to conventional brakes. I don't want it to fail AGIAN, especially in a bad situation.
