2013 FLSTC. riding along and in 6th (green light on) then every now and then light will go out, whilst out i have no indicators ! ( headlight is still working and engine is not missing a beat. Then green light will reappear along with red light, flashing fuel gauge before settling and only the 6th gear green light on and indicators back working, all good then it will do it again ! any ideas please ??

If the sensor is clean and there are no codes:
1. Check fuses.
2. Check wiring and connections to/from speedo.
3. Check connections at BCM/ECM. (Should throw codes if it looses connectivity there I think.)
4. Check battery status if it is getting older (3 + years) probably not though.
5. Does it happen when you turn the forks or just going straight, if when turning check the wiring around the neck area.
That's about all I got. Hopefully you will find the gremlin and it is not the speedo unit itself.
still having the same problem but rides ok just worried it will fail on me at some point.
now have some codes
B2137 - low beam output shorted high.
B2272 - bcm/im voltage high.
C0563 - abs voltage high.
it was struggling to start recently so stuck it on charge for a day or so, could it be battery related ?
would be the cheapest option to try i guess ?
Had the same problem. Spent a fortune wit the dealer trying to resolve - new ECU and speedo unit. Finally sorted by replacing the voltage regulator - now100%.
