Scooter .... Don't listen to these nuckel heads. I'm telling you it's a clutch switch because I had the same exact issue and have had it fixed.
I read your symptoms and that's describing a faulty clutch switch.
Have your service guy look up my service request number {SrvReqNo:[3029886]}. That is from Harley and will have all the details of the issue and the fix.

Having the same issue. Rolling up to a red light (twice) and the engine just cuts out. Also, when i roll up to a red light the idle is fine, then all of the sudden it goes through the roof. Not sure if the 2 issues are linked. Service has been scheduled.
I have a 2017 Road Glide Ultra for 5 weeks now. Had the 1,000 servicing and now I have 2,000 miles on it. Last Sunday my bike stalled twice and today it stalled once on my way back from a dealership. They did the bike isn't generating any codes.
So here is when it's stalling. I'll be downshifting to come to a stop. I'll get down to first gear, and as I get ready to stop, I'll pull the clutch in, to apply the brakes, and the RPM's drops so low that the engine just dies. Sometimes it drops to 500 RPM before I goose it with gas to keep the RPM's up. So it's stalling when I come to a stop. I suspect the RPMs do so low that it just shuts itself off. At times it takes a while to restart the bike. This is a dangerous situation because who knows where I'll be when I can't restart my bike.
My bike never stalled during acceleration and it's always been rolling to a stop when the clutch has been depressed.
I know this is a thread few years old, but i bought a used 2017 RK with 300 miles and it has the same problems as you are talking about. Did you ever find the fix? thanks

Yeah replaced the clutch safety switch. Been a couple dozen threads on this issue, all the same repair........
Never saw mention of a Softail having this issue, really points to the new hydraulic clutch system which the Softails don't have. I guess I'm beating a dead horse as this is old news, just noticed the dates on this thread....
Hi, I'm new to the online web stuff so, I'm Not sure how this works. But, I wanted to see if anyone has had and repaired the same issue that I have. My 2017 Street Glide Special just shuts itself off. It's not a mechanical stall like a clutch thing.. It's like there's a break in an ignition wire. It used to happen only when backing down the driveway into the garage. The lights, and display screen come back on pretty much right away but, the stereo takes a little bit to reboot. I can restart the motor as soon as the lights come back. Then it happened a couple times taking off around a corner. Scarey. It started out as a once in awhile thing but, nowadays I can't hardly back down the drive without it happening a half dozen times. I'm not sure but, I'm thinking that whatever is going on with my bike might not be the same issue that you're having with yours. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Dave

You should probably start your own thread. You will get a better response in the M8 section than the mechanical section.
