Hey guys, so I ordered 98" S&S bore kit for my 03 Train and on their website it says the kit comes with 3cc pistons, so I based my build around the comp with those pistons, but to my surprise it came with 10cc ( actually 10.4 ) pistons and now my Static comp is at 10.61:1, Corrected comp at 9.61:1 and CCP 197.8, with stock 85cc heads and .040 head gasket. I spoke with S&S and pointed out the error in the description for the 98" kit and he says " oh I see it, we'll have to change that ". So now I gotta see if I can figure out a way to make this work cause I can't afford to pay to ship it back to the company I got it from and don't feel I'm responsible to have too, but I could really use some advice on how to make this work and be somewhat reliable as I'm still learning. Thanks!
Only way I see it working is going to 89cc on heads, brings me to 10.16:1 static, 9.21:1 corrected & 187.5 ccp, would that work? Not too worried about the static comp, just the corrected comp & ccp.
Compression is a personal choice. If you want lower compression, head work and cams are going to factor into it. You can't just ask a question based on very little info.
IMO, shipping them back would be a cheaper option then trying to make them work. If you don't have enough cash for a flat rate box, you're going to run into issues doing the build. It's going to cost unexpected parts you didn't think about.
What cam are you running? 197-200 ccp is the goal for a good street build...... Tuning might be a little more challenging but I don't see an issue......
You can run it at that compression but lacking compression releases is going to be tough on the starter and battery. I would have the heads fitted with manual compression releases.

I got the Reaper 543's. I was more concerned about the Corrected comp, can I run 9.39:1?
