With a stock setup and having hot start issues I wouldn't think it was compression doing it.. Something else going on...

im not getting the typical clunk or kick back.
just more like the starter tries to engage then grinds/spins. And it does it infrequently.
replacing the starter clutch would be cheaper and easier and if it doesn’t correct it then I was going to look into comp.
thats my thought anyway

As has been said, both the 48 and the 570-2 are great cams. However, based on the OPs comments WRT his goal of low to mid range performance and not seeing 4500 very often, still thinking S&S 551 and I would definitely address the higher CCP with EZ starts.
