About 7k into this riding season and I hit the rev limiter once by accident passing a few cars and the crank shifted and I found bad rod bearings on tear down. Cured with a darkhorse man o war crank. Don't let my story discourage you...build your motor and if the crank takes a crap on you then fix it. With bad bearings I was on borrowed time anyway, but now when I need to I can build a big power motor and not have to worry about my bottom end again. Good luck with the build
About bigger injectors , is there any good way toraise fuel pressure instead ?

well,whoever told you that is wrong,you do realize the 117" uses the same bore cylinders as a 124,right? (4.125 bore.117 uses a 4.375 stroke,124 uses a 4.625)

im no expert and maybe kirby or someone can explain it better. Even if you had 100 psi from the fuel pump the injector still dictates how much fuel can be put into the motor over a given period of time...controled by the tune. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me. As far as going 124, I took it thst the op was going with the 117 drop on from HD and hadn't planned on splitting the cases...yet lol.

CR 575 @ 10.25-1 makes a great touring motor. Good luck on the build.

A Barney basket? Must be purple!
I know— it’s a Barnett— it just struck me as funny.

Now I’m installing s&s cam plate and oil pump, S&S tensioners and install the lower cam sprocket and inner cam bearings. Anything else I should look at while in cam chest? Is 594 to much of a cam for this build or is the 585 the way to go?
