As Ed has pointed out, the crank seal is the most likely culprit, so replacing it is the obvious move. Seems that seals don't know how many miles have been rolled up before they fail; they just fail. Since the cam chest is open, no harm in checking the relief valve piston. Pull it out and polish it with a Scotch Brite pad; it should move freely in the in the bore. If it falls out when you remove the spring, you will know it is OK but as Ed also pointed out, high oil pressure is not pushing motor oil into the primary. New breathers are cheap, just buy new rather than rebuild?

djl, I agree w you. I have seem many seals fail w/o any apparent reason. I know that replacing it at this point is the logical practice. I don't have the cam chest open yet. I was just planning for the future if in fact the problem of transfer still exists after replacing the seal and spacer, and after new parts in the breather system. I will be placing new umbrella valves, gaskets and 'gauze' in the system. I will also check for true-ness of the metal components, considering the fact that the breather system is a likely culprit even though the system 'seems' to be functioning. Thanks

OK, if the cam chest is not open, do as Ed suggested and attach a known good mechanical oil pressure gauge; you many not need to open the cam chest. All I was saying about the breathers was for about $12 more, you can replace with new rather than rebuild with the rebuild kit; your call of course.
