I had a general thought on bore and stroke ratios and under, over, and square engines. 124 and 117 engines are both under square engines, but the 124 is more square than a 117, right? Would it be a more balanced and well rounded engine than a 117 or am I putting too much thought into it?

That one is beyond me. Maybe someone else can help with that.
I just went with the most reasonable CI increase available at the time. For me, a kit that had all that stuff figured out and a history of success with that particular recipe was what I was looking for.
