Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
Read your post here and you seemed like the guy to ask.
Have a quick question. Should the VOES on a 1994 Harley Fatboy with CV Keihin carb hold pressure when I put a vacuum gauge on it?? If so how much?
Checked mine quickly with a pump and it had no interest in holding any pressure.

Assuming you mean vacuum, it should hold 30 in-hg easy.. It should not leak. Make sure you tool is OK.
if its bad will it cause the bike to die while running once engine is hot
Big James I'm kinda suspicious of my vacuum line from my diaphragm to carburetor collapsing after engine warms up and running at high speeds, I have a 2003 xl883c custom anniversary edition Harley Davidson sportster.
at high rpms the engine, head lights shuts all shut off the bike slows down backfires and comes back on. If I ease along it's all cool but when I build up high rpms it will shut down pop and spit out the carburetor come back on .I don't think it's the voes its self but the vacuum line collasping. well that's my story and I'm sticking to it
