I I picked up a used Softail rear wheel to fix my offset issue which it does. But the seller never told me and I just noticed that the previous owner put studs in the hub for the brake rotor instead of using bolts. Wtf but i managed to get two of them out and the last three are not really wanting to move. I tried heat already. Tomorrow I am going to weld a nut to them and see if that helps. If not. Off to the machine shop. Who the hell puts studs on a wheel?

Have you tried using two nuts on a stud to get it out?

And I would have some serious words with the seller if he/she failed to disclose that "little" issue...

That's the first time I have seen that!
Sometimes an impact gun can help knock em' loose too (after you weld the nut on).
Good luck

Default Stuck studs

Because you have lots of thread you could use 2 nuts on the stud tightening one against the other firmly then wrenching the stud out using the inside nut.

I tried the two nuts. And with a big wrench too. I either need an even bigger wrench or I will try my impact gun. While trying the two nuts trick one of the nuts stopped from so much pressure. These are some heavy duty studs

that was my first thought; doesn't look like there's enuf threads for a second nut. I'd keep heating it with some MAP gas, then tapping it with a hammer then try again. You're probably fighting lock-tite red, so chase the threads with a bottom tap once all 5 studs are out.

Good idea. I haven't tapped it with a hammer yet. I will try that tomorrow morning. I was all excited to get home from vacation and get this wheel on. And as usual it's not being easy. I couldn't get that lucky. I will add how it comes out or if I give in to taking it to the machine shop
