Default Crane Fireball Dual-fire coil installation help required...

Good evening all,

I was tidying up some wiring undernath the tank and spotted two new plugwires on, what seems to be, an old original coil.

I happen to have an almost new Crane Fireball Dual-fire off siting idle so I thouhgt I'd fit that.

However: there are THREE wires connected to my OEM coil and there are only TWO connections on the Crane item...

As I can't seem to find an installation guide for the Crane online I thought I'd ask you lot...maybe there's someone that knows what to do?

Cheers!

Oh, by the way it's a PN 8-3006 coil and the bike has a Dyna 2000 ignition module on it!

Three wire coils are for single fire ignitions.
Hope the link helps.

In that case I'd leave the Dyna in it.

Thanks for that!

Although...surely the OEM item isn't single fire...? It looks like a stock coil, or atleast, it doesn't bear any marking of any performance item?

Mix up:

I've no intention of removing the Dyna module!

I just thought I'd switch the stock coil for the Crane item!

No idea what brand coil you have installed now, but it is the correct one for the single fire Dyna ignition. The Crane coil is for use with the stock electronic ignition, and is dual fire. Leave it on the shelf, or sell it.
