BluHarley,

My eyes lit up and my heart skipped a beat to see that beauty.

BTW I read through some articles of interest today here on the EVO board so I'm not forgetting about helping out when I can.

I spoke with my friend who is buying the '86'er and told him any time I can help with a question or suggestion on service or maintenance I'll be happy to do what I can.

All this talk about hips ... Hmmm. Several months prior to my September 24th accident I was reporting to my doctor that I was having issues in my left hip. What flared it up badly is an "amorous position" that has been one that mutually satisfies my wife and me. There's some "straddling" involved. But in the past 10 months it's crippling me. Then when I was checking out bikes too many of the seats are wide and after testing out a few I had an even worse series of hip pain. Now while using the treadmill at a rate of anything over 3.3 mph the stride pinches or impinges and gives me bad pain. Once it's flared up I can be walking or using the stairs and get shooting pain. Even side stepping or getting out of the car (left foot leading from the driver's side) I wrench in pain. So tomorrow morning I am starting therapy with an evaluation and see if I can overcome the matter like I have with major issues involving my back, neck, shoulder and most recently Carpal Metacarpal right hand issues and the break of the 5th metacarpal from the cycle accident also on that hand. I've gotten good results from therapy and hoping it'll work for this hip issue too. X-ray did not show any problems or arthritic issues so it's all muscular.

I had taken about a years worth of Statins some 15 years ago and developed major side effect symptoms that the doctor addressed by giving me more medication for the side effect. Digestive issues began right away. Onions or garlic lead to IBS, GIRDS and acid reflux. But the worst was the weakening of my muscles. My legs started to have restless leg syndrome and again I was given medication, this time quinine. I was not sleeping and getting very weak. One day I squatted down to put a VHS tape in the player and it took all my arm strength to get back up on my feet. I read up about Statins and stopped them on my own and found a new doctor too. Within 3 days my IBS reaction to onions and garlic disappeared but I still was weak. And I honestly believe that all my issues as I've aged came from the destruction of muscle tissue by those Statins!

So The conversation here about hip issues is a shared concern. I'm glad to hear many found relief from the surgeries but I hope to continue to win out over the troubles I've had with focused therapy. I still suffer from a weakened condition in my right knee, and for about two years I get major muscle cramps in my right arm between my shoulder and elbow. Some days it worse, some days I don't think about it.

I'm real happy I decided to stop in here and post about my current experience and really appreciate the feedback and ever expanding conversation too. I've liked sharing on HD Forum for many years now. Beats the hell out of Facebook ....LOL

Coitus conversation aside (lol, &#128541 Johnny, good luck! I am very envious of the bike but not your payments. I'm sick just thinking about those. Seriously though, congratulations and best wishes.

My buddy purchased a new ultra recently. He has grown to like it but, at first he wasn't crazy about it at all. He got really unhappy when Harley said they would cancel his warranty if he flew big flags on the back of his bike. All in all he is happy as his big thing is taking long trips these days. A mutual friend of ours bought a new goldwing at about the same time. He flies big flags (PGR) behind the wing and that keeps my buddy's jaw tight. The ond thing the new Harley has is good horsepower right from the showroom.

One last ride on the Tour Glide. Weather was real good for riding so I delivered my buddy's new bike to him about 20 miles from my home. Later I polished up the E-Glide and took the wife for a ride. Just rolled over the first 225 miles today. Looks like the next 10 days is filled with cold, wet and even more snowy weather in the forecast. So much for riding during the upcoming 10 day Spring break!

I'm certain the new Glide is great, but giving up the Tour Glide would be tough. Congrats.
