At $200 for a rebuild and $300 for a fresh one I don't think you're getting that out of it. You could put that money elsewhere or keep it in your pocket.
You'll never recoup the money you spend on a carb or a dyno tune. Put it together and let's see how she does. I bet I can get her running pretty fair for nothing, provided the diaphragm isn't perforated or something.

I must have missed the part where he said the idea was to 'flip' the bike for a profit. And I agree, he doesn't need another carb for a Stage 2 EVO build. That CV will be fine.
Granted, with a minimum of work he should be able to get the carb dialed in. But it's been my experience that a good dyno tuned carb is worth the money. Especially if it's a bike you're keeping.

The original plan was a quick flip but since I can get this one back together before the parts for the Heritage front end come in I'm gonna keep it till I'm done with both bikes.
I'd just pull the bowl on the cv and make sure it is clean. Then note jetting and if it has any mods (dj kit). Then pull the top and verify diaphragm is soft and free of holes.
