Default Warping derby covers
Anyone find a 3 hole cover that doesn't warp? This one looks like it would hold up good.

I've warped rocker boxes but I've never warped a Derby cover!!!
Your primary shouldn't be getting hot enough to warp it!!!

I think that's why they went to 5 hole! The one that was on there was warped when I got it, and I bought a new one and it's warped now too. If I lay it on a flat surface, it touches the surface at 3 points, and gaps in between. I've ordered some cork gaskets, they claim these will help, instead of the paper crap Harley sells. EDIT: It does take time, but they warp.

Sounds like overtorqueing and or improperly fastening the bolts.

I've had aftermarket covers warp, but not OEM.

Yea, maybe too tight. This one I bought new out of the Harley shop has been warped for years. My primary leaks from there. It's gotten bad. Leaves a puddle after riding.

Just for the hell of it, check the length of those bolts, make sure they are not a bit too long.


These don't leak.

These don't leak.
Not the primary cover, the clutch cover. I could not figure how long bolts could make the derby cover leak!
