Could he not use an appropriate length/dia of pipe, a couple of washers to spread the load and do a test torque on the studs?

Don't want to risk bending the studs. I think its best to test them with jugs and heads in place with the new gaskets, may get lucky. The Time serts I used were not all that expensive and can sometimes be picked up locally ( not for me of course ).

no luck. Couldn't torque it to 38fp.

Anyone near Pontiac, MI with a time-sert kit? Hoping to finally save a little coin...


Edit: Nevermind. My buddy had one.

My buddy said he'll have it done before I get home from work today... Shouldn't extend it much. It's good to have good friends...
