Nobody will believe this, but it is true. While serving my country, I was involved in a helo crash that ruptured 2 discs in my lower spine. This therapy and that therapy did exactly squat to relieve the pain or help with healing. (Don't get me started on the quality of military medicine).
I had not ridden my 84 softail for a long time and went out the garage to just pet it and be around it. After a while I turned on the ignition and punched the starter button. I was rewarded with a half hearted grunt and a couple of clicks. Being young and belligerent, I put my foot on the kicker pedal and kicked it over just for spite. Oddly enough it felt pretty good. I did it again and found that my pain was partly and momentarily relieved. Being a good scooter, another kick and she fired up. I sat down and discovered that it felt really good. I had 12" Ape hangers and extended forward controls. This in combination with the stock Softail seat put my spine in the perfect angle to almost relieve all of my pain.
I rode her around the block and found that the vibration of that rigid mounted motor was the icing on the cake. Man alive if felt good. I eventually had to have surgery, but Babydoll made life bareable until I did get fixed.
