Default 1986FXWG Points Conversion

Converted my 1986FXWG from electronic ignition to points back in the early 90s, and am about to put new points in (ACL-8400) - can you tell me what the points gap should be please.

.018 is the correct points gap.

How long have you owned the bike ? I would love to see a woman kick over an evo! I think that's awesome !!! It can be a bear sometimes... If that's your bike in your profile, looks great and not too molested, very rear bike.....

I went in the opposite direction from you and replaced the factory dual fire with a single fire programmable ignition. Nothing to maintain, just pick the curve that runs the strongest and leave it.

Let us know if you do any modifications or repairs. We like to help (and learn).

Bought the bike back in 1987, second owner, and I always kick start it first when I take it out - kicks over every time, takes a bit of grunt sometimes, but yes I'm proud.

Thanks Tommy C. That's what I had written down but just wanted to confirm.

Don't forget to periodically lube the advance unit when you're in there.
