Default Hard Case Saddle Bag Lock Issue

I have been getting annoyed that the bag locks don't work anymore. It seems as if the lock isn't catching anything. All I know is,when I bought the thing the bag locks work till I took the bike to work one day. Then they quit working after that. I can only speculate someone had messed with the bike and damaged the locks being nosy while I was on the floor out of sight. I can't prove that theory but it all I have.

I think I remember something about the latches being an known issue but can't remember what it was. I wonder what the heck is the deal with them.

Someone probably tried to steal the bags.

Joe, chin up old chap! Pull one of the latches apart and check what has gone wrong, post pics if you're not sure, so we can help.

The latches can require some time and patience,do one side at a time.

Once seen how they work the repair comes a bit easier.

When I bought my '91 I ordered all new locks and actuators. Found a kit thru HD that had all 3 for tourpak and bags. Really wasn't that expensive for a little piece of mind.

Joe open a lid and work the key. See how the "cam" comes into play and latches the lid down. Now look where the "cam" latches the lid together. It may be as easy as adjusting the metal latch or "cam".
Easy on the adjusting, don't bend too much. Use needle nose pliers if you need to,

Well I fixed this issue after looking very closely. Apparently the po turned the locks upside down......???? Kinda weird but that what happened.
