One could always install a 1.4 kw or higher starter but if you do don't forget to up the starter cable and battery cca rating....

Yea... That would be from the battery to the starter..
like any circuit if you increase the current draw you need to make sure the circuit can handle it. heat buildup due to too much resistance in the circuit can cause premature failure to the starter and wiring. It would be the same as too much voltage drop across the circuit and starving the starter of the required amperage to sufficiently turn the starter...

Are you talking about the green wire that goes from the starter relay to the starter?

FWIW I had a 1.4kw starter for a while without changing anything else and it worked fine for a couple of years.

The reason I took it out was that it was noisy not because something broke.

No, the starter cable from the battery positive post.

It's only a suggestion because now you can get up to a 2 kw starter. lots of draw there...

I kinda thought that's what you were talking about but I wasn't sure.
I've never heard it called a starter cable.

As for the 2kw starter the only people here that would possibly help is 1997bagger and bumpandrun nobody else (that I know of) has a motor big enough to need one.
