Doing the same thing on my 85 Low Rider build, but the project has been on hold for a bit. I decided I'm going to see how a Fat Bob 49mm front end looks on my bike as opposed to the 41mm WG.
With the 41mm WG, modified Touring lower legs for the dual disc Brembo set-up and the Fat Bob headlight
Gotta get my tubes ordered so I can mock up the 49mm
I dig where yer going with that. 41s with the Wide Glide trees won't feel as precise as 39s (& I imagine the 49s as well). That said, I don't strafe many apexes these days & love the extra c-hair or so of rake in the Wide Glide trees.
He was asking $8500, needed the piston to be remade but he said it was all there, complete. Single cylinder about 350 cc, it was very cool but I wound up buying a project on the way back from Sturgis so I needed to turn that first. Might have to go back there again when I'm ready for the next project It was a great meet, get there if you have the chance.
