I was putting the front wheel back on my '97 flht and broke a stud that holds the axle cap on the right side (don't ask). The SOB will not come out.
Now it looks like I have a reason to take the forks apart and upgrade. Does anyone know what size wrench I need to take the top caps off? Any suggestions for upgrades? I don't have an Ohlins budget.

It's actually a metric size but if I remember right a 1 3/8" wrench will fit.
First time I did mine I used a rag and a pipe wrench and it worked without scarring the cap nut.
The cap takes a 1 3/8" socket. I picked this thing up a few years ago. Lovely, and the little O-ring on the inside protects the cap when you are pushing it down against the spring.
