Hi guys, bike began running like crap this week. Popping on accelleration and deceleration. Sprayed carb cleaner on the intake and rpm rise. Also found that only the front jug runs
New plug, old plug, same result....no gas getting to it. Could the intake leak be causing all the gas to go to the front, leaving the back jug dry????
Compression is the same, front and back. I am getting good sparks.
Scoot is an 89 FLHS, stock 80in, keihin carb (I know, get a CV), compliance fittings (S&S manifold upgrade on the way).
The compliance fittings are known to go to leaking and will typically cause a lean condition. If it is bad enough, I suppose it could cause a cylinder to not get any fuel.
Stop screwing around with that hunk of junk carburetor and replace it with virtually anything else not only for better performance, but more reliability.
Harley's own CV carburetor, Mikuni HSR42, and S&S are all good choices.
