The price of a 124" S&S EVO is about double the book value of a 98 FXDL...might want to try to fix what you have.

Any EVO from 84-99 will bolt in...since yours is a head breather...it would be less trouble if you find a 93-99

They make adapters to make them work..but I have never done one so I have no idea how much trouble it is...though a carbed engine probably would be easy...they even make adapters to bolt in 96" motors...but on those you also need adapters for the primary also, and have to convert to a carb, or have the wiring savvy to hook up the EFI..not for the amateur.
