Default 90 FLHTCU Inner fairing removal help

I'm pulling my inner fairing and have come to a standstill on two areas that the manual doesn't really cover.
1. Do I disconnect the brake line from the master cylinder?
2. Does the fairing slide up and over the ignition switch? I've already removed keyed part.

Thank you.

Maybe this will help:

To answer your questions:

1) Yes, you'll have to take the brake line off the MC.

2) IIRC (I don't have my manual with me), the FSM says to remove the ignition switch sticker. There are two screws underneath that that you're supposed to remove. There's no getting the sticker off without destroying it, so you'll need a new one or live without it. I've only done this job once, and it was over a year ago so my memory isn't all that fresh, but I seem to recall concluding at the time that you could get away with not removing the stickers and the screws, and just pulling the ignition housing out with the inner fairing.

[left]Thank you for the info. I was trying to avoid disconnecting the brake line as I haven't had much luck bleeding motorcycle brakes but looks like I'll get more practice. Here's where I'm at now with the ignition switch. Do you know if I can slide the fairing over it or do I still have to remove the switch?

You're as good as done, right there. Should come right off. The bottom kind of snaps onto the triple trees, so you have to spread it apart to free it up.

You also have to remove the bars, of course.

Take care with removing the inner off the top tree, as the poor thing already has a small crack by the look of it.

Thanks. There are a few more cracks I found on the inside that I'm going to patch up with fiberglass once I remove it.

Thanks again for your help guys. I managed to remove the inner fairing without doing any additional damage to it. One question I have is that since I'm installing Progressive Suspension cartridges, can I delete this whole electric block? If so, what have you guys done with the wires?

On mine, I removed that block, then mounted the prongs to the upper triple tree (drilled and tapped some holes) and reconnected the wires.

Those wires look as if they are all the same colour, probably black, and are wired to ground, so any convenient solution IMHO, subject to confirming they are grounds.
