From what I can tell they both use the same "internals" and it looks like they changed the shock mount from a cradle to a bolt through. Both rear wheels are the same as are the spacers required for mounting. I'd say it's a bolt in.....

The break was right through the hole where the axle goes through on the left side. Looking at the break, there was some rust on 80% and fresh metal on the rest. The initial crack should have been visible, but not easy with a saddle bag in the way. This is a bike that has been across the country as well as drag-raced. Lucky guy.
BTW, this started with a possible rear pad change due to a noisy caliper. The rotor was cocked in the caliper, then I found out why.
