Default EVO Swingarm

Anyone know the difference between a '96 and a '97 swingarm?

From what I can tell they both use the same "internals" and it looks like they changed the shock mount from a cradle to a bolt through. Both rear wheels are the same as are the spacers required for mounting. I'd say it's a bolt in.....

Thanks MK. I am replacing the broken swingarm on a Brother's bike. Worst one I've seen without lowering blocks.

Here's a thread I started a while back when I replaced my buddies broken swingarm.

The break was right through the hole where the axle goes through on the left side. Looking at the break, there was some rust on 80% and fresh metal on the rest. The initial crack should have been visible, but not easy with a saddle bag in the way. This is a bike that has been across the country as well as drag-raced. Lucky guy.
BTW, this started with a possible rear pad change due to a noisy caliper. The rotor was cocked in the caliper, then I found out why.
(He does not want to spend the money on the swingarm upgrade.)
